Claude Code in the cloud
what to clarify first
In a cloud session, Claude Code runs on Anthropic’s machines instead of your own computer. You can start a task, switch your computer off and look at the result later. According to gHacks (26 September 2026), Pro and Max subscribers can now use this without signing up for a trial.
What it is for
Long tasks keep running even when your computer is off or your local usage limit has been reached.
Steps
- First clarify which data the task touches. Customer data, credentials or confidential documents do not belong there without a check.
- Start the session from the Claude Code section on the web, in the app, or with
claude --cloudin the terminal. - Check the result as you would with any agent work before you accept it.
Promotional credit (expired)
- $100 for Pro, $250 for Max, only for individual plans that were active on 23 September 2026.
- The deadline to claim it expired on 7 October 2026. If you claimed it: according to BleepingComputer (25 September 2026), unused credit expires on 4 November 2026.
- The credit only applies to cloud sessions, not to local ones.
Limits
- Whether the offer will be extended to Team or Enterprise plans is open, according to the source.
- How Anthropic processes data in cloud sessions was not checked for this card. That remains open.
