Claude Design moves into Claude: claude.ai/design closes on 14 December

Website

Move prototypes, slide decks and design systems from claude.ai/design into Claude, or save them as a .zip, before 14 December 2026.

Source: Move from standalone Claude Design to Claude (Claude Help Center, Anthropic),

Note: I use Claude and Claude Code for my own work. Anthropic does not pay me, and the links are not affiliate links.

Technical drawing: on the left, a window outlined with dashes labelled "claude.ai/design", with a close cross and the date 2026-12-14 above it, holding a design system made of a type sample and colour swatches, a prototype and a slide deck. An arrow labelled "Move" leads to a window labelled "Claude · Artifacts" with the same three items, and a dashed path leads to a .zip archive.

What happened: Anthropic will close the standalone Claude Design website (claude.ai/design) on 14 December 2026. Its help article on the move was last updated on 23 October 2026. Claude Design has been available since April 2026 for designs, prototypes and slides. According to the release notes, it has worked directly inside Claude since 16 September. New designs are created there as artifacts and appear on the Artifacts page.

What this means: The old website stays usable until 14 December. After that it is read-only, and some time later the originals themselves are deleted as well. Anything you have not moved or saved will then be gone. Your chats with Claude and the comments do not move over and will be deleted too. Public links to projects on the old website will stop working. If you sent a client a prototype as a link, that link will lead nowhere.

What you can do:

  1. Move design systems now: Open the Artifacts page in Claude and choose “Move team design systems” in the banner. One move brings over every design system in the organisation. Empty ones and those made from a built-in starter theme are not moved.
  2. Move projects: According to Anthropic, this is rolling out gradually to paid plans. The owner moves a single project from the banner inside it. Afterwards the old copy is read-only for everyone, and this cannot be undone.
  3. Save a .zip: In the project, click “Share”, then “Project HTML” (for slide decks it is under “More formats and apps”), keep “Project archive” selected and click “Export”. The .zip contains every file in the project, is free and does not count towards usage limits.
  4. Rescue notes and links: Copy anything important out of chats and comments beforehand, and note where you have shared public links so you can replace them.

Context: On Team and Enterprise plans, artifacts must be turned on, and on Enterprise, design systems are off by default. Organisations with zero data retention cannot move projects and must download them before 14 December.
